To All Stakeholders Interested in Rehabilitation and Post Acute Care:

You are invited to a meeting and webinar on Monday, July 29th from 12:30 to 2:00 Eastern Time for all those who would like to learn more about post-acute care policy issues. This educational session is intended to assist you in providing meaningful comments to the recent bipartisan request from the Senate Finance and House Ways and Means Committees related to detailed proposals to change Medicare post-acute care.(Please see attached Congressional letter to stakeholders, comments for which are due on August 19th.)

View the Congressional letter to stakeholders.

It seems clear that Congress intends to offset the cost of the physician fee schedule fix in a variety of ways, but Medicare post-acute care is one of the biggest targets to emerge so far.Post-acute care disproportionately impacts people with disabilities, injuries, illnesses and chronic conditions. It is provided in a variety of settings and is critical to returning people to health and function following illness and injury.

The request for comments is extremely detailed and asks for comment on a number of complex post-acute care topics such as bundling, the Continuing Care Hospital concept, quality incentives, the CARE tool, and other important issues.Presenters will include experts in this area from the American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association, Patton Boggs, and the Powers firm. AMRPA has graciously volunteered to sponsor the lunch. We welcome your in-person attendance or your participation via webinar.
