The International Consortium for Regenerative Rehabilitation (ICRR) was founded at the University of Pittsburgh.
The consortium currently consists of 16 leading institutions from across the world. Dr. Fabrisia Ambrosio, PhD, now the Atlantic Charter Director of the Discovery Center for Musculoskeletal Recovery at the Schoen Adams Research Institute at Spaulding Rehabilitation and a faculty member in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School, has served as the founding director.
At the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP) annual meeting in February 2024, it was announced that the ICRR will have a new home with the AAP with an expansion of educational opportunities to focus on Regenerative Rehabilitation.
“The field of regenerative medicine has exciting potential to bring impactful discoveries and novel research direct to patients. Joining our consortium with the AAP is a tremendous opportunity to grow awareness and collaboration in the field. This marks a major milestone and will accelerate the growth of this emerging discipline.”
