  • Committee applications are open year-round. (Committee positions starting in February 2026 have been filled.)
  • Applications are reviewed by the LDRC in the Fall.
  • New committee members start their terms at the AAP Annual Meeting the following winter (usually in February).

We’re especially looking for passionate and engaged members* to join the Leadership Development and Recognition Committee (LDRC), Research Committee, Public Policy Committee, and Governance Committee. If you’ve been considering getting more involved, now is the perfect time to take that step!

Please note that committee positions for in training members are very limited. We encourage you to explores opportunities with the Residents/Fellows Council and Medical Student Council.
