The principal investigator for the renowned North Texas Burn Rehabilitation Model System, she has published more than 110 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts – many related to burn care and outcomes – and delivered 90-plus invited lectures.

Sara is the Chair, Clinical Professor and Residency Program Director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/JFK Medical Center. Walter Frontera, MD, PhD

Walter is a Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Puerto Rico. He has served as the Inaugural Chair of PM&R at the UPR, Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Vanderbilt University. Walter has also published more than 230 scientific manuscripts including 16 edited books and is Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and President-Elect of ISPRM. Walter has presented invited lectures in 53 countries and is Past-President of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS).

Marlis is an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She also serves as the Medical Director of Outpatient PM&R Clinics at Johns Hopkins.
