John Chae, MD, ME

John serves as Vice President for Research, Chair of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Professor at Case Western Reserve University/ MetroHealth. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and over 20 reviews, book chapters and books. He has also been awarded 13 patents. John is an Associate Editor for AJPM&R (the AAP's medical journal) and an Editor of the field’s premier text book, DeLisa’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation: Principles and Practice.

Adam Stein, MD

Adam is the Chair of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and a Professor at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. He also directs all physical medicine and rehabilitation services and education across Northwell Health. His focus is on building a strategic plan for rehabilitation medicine, promoting utilization of services throughout the continuum and developing programs of distinction.

Gwendolyn Sowa, MD, PhD

Gwen is the Chair and Professor of PM&R at UPMC and Director of the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute. She is also Co-Director of the Ferguson Laboratory for Orthopaedic and Spine Research. She has authored and co-authored over 60 original research publications and 35 book chapters and reviews, and given over 200 national presentations.

Gerard Francisco, MD

Gerard is the Chair and a Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at McGovern Medical School at UT Health and Adjunct Professor of PM&R at Baylor College of Medicine. He is also Director of the UT Health Motor Recovery Lab and the TIRR Memorial Hermann Spasticity Treatment and Research Center. He is principal investigator in research in various areas, including robotic therapy in persons with incomplete spinal cord injury and intrathecal baclofen and botulinum toxins for spasticity.

Sara is the Chair, Clinical Professor and Residency Program Director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School/JFK Medical Center. She also serves as the Medical Director and VP of JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. She has authored over 15 book chapters and has also authored and co-authored multiple articles and over 50 abstracts regarding resident education, resident competencies and clinical consult related issues. Sara also published the first and second editions of The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Board Review Textbook.

Walter Frontera, MD, PhD

Walter is a Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Puerto Rico. He has served as the Inaugural Chair of PM&R at the UPR, Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Vanderbilt University. Walter has also published more than 230 scientific manuscripts including 16 edited books and is Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine and President-Elect of ISPRM. Walter has presented invited lectures in 53 countries and is Past-President of the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS).

Marlis is an Associate Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She also serves as the Medical Director of Outpatient PM&R Clinics at Johns Hopkins. She has won several awards for her research, including the Passano Physician Scientists Award, the New Investigator Award of the Foundation for Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and a Traveling Fellowship Award from the Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Gerald Skoning, Esq.

Gerald is a retired Partner and a Trial Lawyer who has practiced for over 35 years in the area of labor and employment law. He has practiced in 25 different federal district courts, eight federal courts of appeal, and has had numerous cases in the U.S. Supreme Court. He teaches courses on labor and employment law, his written books and articles, and has appeared on numerous TV and radio talk shows.

John Whyte, MD, PhD

John is the recently retired Director of the Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute. He has served on peer review and scientific planning committees for the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (now NIDILRR) and the Veterans Administration. He also serves as an associate editor for the American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation and as an ad hoc reviewer for many rehabilitation, psychology and neuroscience journals.
