Women in Academic Physiatry: Pearls in Career and Personal Development








Course Description:

This highly interactive course  is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate academic medicine and discover the path to leadership. The course will focus on reflection, strategic planning, and goal setting. Our outstanding faculty will share their valuable experience and brainstorm with you for your career and personal development individually and in small group sessions.


Who Should Attend?

Women physicians in training, junior faculty, physicians in an early career stage who want to reflect and grow on their career and personal life.


Program Objectives:

  1. Clarify the vision of the career and personal life based on individual values and develop a career plan to realize that vision.
  2. Recognize potential challenges (e.g. gender-based barriers) in career development and acquire skill sets (e.g. negotiation, time management) to overcome those.
  3. Expand and enjoy the network of peers and mentors in academic physiatry.
  4. Booster the ability to enjoy work and personal life.
