Advancing the Physiatrists Role in Neuromodulation Workshop

Led by Dr. Michael Saulino of MossRehab, this workshop will introduce physiatrists to the concepts of neuromodulation including a review of neuromodulation history and concepts, mechanisms of action, technical aspects of device management, optimizing outcomes with neuromodulation technology, and adding research activities to a neuromodulation service line. Participants will explore neuromodulation for acute and chronic pain, movement disorders, psychiatric indications, and emerging indications.

 Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSK US) Workshop

Wednesday, February 14, 2018, 1:00pm - 5:30pm

Led by Dr. Joanne Borg-Stein of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Dr. Mooyeon Oh-Park of Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, this workshop aims to improve the teaching skills, evaluation methods, knowledge of advanced MSK US applications, and troubleshooting ability in MSK US education.

Quality/ Performance Improvement Workshop

Wednesday, February 14, 2018, 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Led by Dr. Diane Mortimer of Minneapolis Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center, this 3-hour workshop will give an overview of the Quality/ Performance Improvement process, including a discussion of strategies that physiatrists can employ as they optimize the implementation of the QI process in clinical, research, academic and administrative settings. Following the overview, participants will break into small groups to operationalize this knowledge by developing individual QI/PI projects with the help of expert faculty. This workshop is limited to 25 participants!

 Spasticity Workshop: From Research to Practice

Saturday, February 17, 2018, 10:30am - 3:30pm

Led by NYU physician scientist Dr. Preeti Raghavan, this workshop aims to standardize spasticity training, education and treatment across the country. The workshop will focus on the science of spasticity including new research findings, emerging therapies to improve the quality of life for patients with spasticity, and strategies for medical educators who teach future physiatrists. Join us to explore contemporary advances in evaluation and treatment alongside like-minded colleagues and internationally recognized practitioners.
