Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Association of Academic Physiatrists (AAP).
Micro-volunteers participate in volunteers tasks that can be completed quickly, without a repeated commitment.
The following Micro-volunteer opportunities are available:
The AAP receives 450 + abstracts submissions for presentation at the AAP Annual Meeting. AAP is seeking assistance in reviewing these 300-word research studies and case reports. Volunteers will complete 20-25 reviews via a user friendly online process that will determine status of acceptance for each assigned abstract.
EXHIBITOR TASK FORCE:
The Exhibitor Task Force, comprised of AAP members and industry partners, is tasked with recruiting new industry partners for exhibit and sponsorship opportunities at AAP 2017, and implementing enhancements to improve AAP attendee and exhibitor interaction and the overall experience in the Exhibit Hall.
Poster Tour Guides:
The AAP is dedicated to mentorship, leadership, and discovery. 2017 AAP Annual Meeting attendees will be heavily encouraged to visit the Poster Board Hall to engage in discussion and offer feedback and encouragement to the presenters. AAP will also host Poster Hall tours and are seeking Tour Guides to lead interested attendees to key posters within a selected category.
Journal Podcasts Moderators:
The Education Committee is looking for volunteers to serve as moderators or hosts for upcoming Journal Podcasts. The moderators interview the lead author of the Journal article about the study and guide the discussion with the author. Podcasts are generally 10 – 15 minutes in length and recording takes approximately 1 hour to complete. The only equipment needed is a landline phone. If you are interested, please submit your name, email and areas of expertise.
Research consulting program junior team member:
The AAP Physiatric Research Development Consulting Program is designed to support institutions currently seeking to expand or develop their research program. In an effort to provide our members with additional opportunities for professional development, the Research Committee invites interested junior faculty members to apply to participate in the site visits as active learners. One junior participant will be chosen per site visit to join two senior team members and travel expenses will be covered by the Consulting Program. If interested please submit your CV and a short statement of interest.
