Benefits to all


Leading an Innovation Showcase allows companies and institutions to introduce new technologies and drug therapies, give in-depth technical demonstrations, and present technical updates to the interested and engaged AAP meeting audience.This marketing opportunity is available to official exhibitors and supporters and provides companies with unique opportunities to demonstrate their new products and solicit feedback from the audience in an intimate environment dedicated to building innovation.  


AAP Annual Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to learn about breakthrough technologies in AAP’s new Innovation Showcase in the exhibit hall and with industry professionals who will have insight and solutions to the latest challenges in PM&R, and receive one-on-on attention during follow up questions/answer sessions.



Innovation Showcase is a designated theater within the Exhibit Hall with seating for 50+attendees.  Innovation Showcases are intended to be interactive demonstrations of brand new therapies and technologies.No selling of any kind can occur during the Innovation Showcase, however promotional materials and contact information can be distributed immediately after the Innovation Showcase and on the exhibit floor. 

Presentations are arranged in 30 minute increments and there are 5 available slots.

Due to limited spacing, the application process is competitive.  The AAP Program Committee will review all submitted applications and choose only those applicants with truly innovative and new products and services that will be of highest interest to the AAP audience

These sessions are promotional and are not eligible for continuing education credits.




Companies and organizations are required to be exhibitors at the AAP Annual Meeting in order to conduct an Innovation Showcase.  There are a total of five (5) Innovation Showcase slots.  Applications will be processed on a first-come first serve basis.

Who can submit new therapies and technologies

  • Corporations with new products that have launched within the last year
  • Early stage and start-up companies
  • Consultants with case studies from the past year
  • Academic centers and research teams


$5,000 per presentation per timeslot.  Special pricing for start-ups and academic centers may be considered.

Included in the price is:

  • Venue for you to introduce your new products and services through a 30 minute presentation
  • Innovation Showcase presentation listings on signage and Annual Meeting website
  • Complimentary audio/visual equipment including 2 microphones, LCD projector, and screen
  • Seating capacity for 50+ attendees

Application Process:

  • Innovation Showcases may only be conducted upon approval by AAP
  • Space is limited for this activity.  There are five (5) available showcase slots
  • All applications must be received by November 15, 2015
  • Due to limited spacing, the application process is competitive.  The AAP Program Committee will review all submitted applications and choose only those applicants with truly innovative and new products and services and of highest interest to the AAP audience
  • AAP will notify the company of acceptance of the application by November 25, 2015 and will provide the assigned date and time for the Innovation Showcase.  Space is officially confirmed when you receive e-mail notification from AAP, and complete the official contract
  • Full payment is due with the contract and must be received before December 15, 2015

AAP Provides:

  • One mailing list of preregistered meeting attendees
  • Innovation Showcase session signage
  • Overhanding banner designating the Innovation Showcase in the Exhibit Hall
  • Listing of Innovation Showcases in the 2016 AAP Annual Meeting program and on the website
  • One (1) complimentary registration for a designated speaker of participating company
  • One (1) complimentary one-page announcement flyer to be inserted into registration bags
  • Standard theater located in the Exhibit Hall
  • Classroom seating for 50 attendees
  • AV including 2 microphones, LCD projector, and screen
  • Promotional emails to registered and prospective attendees – select e-mails will include a lead-in about the Innovation Showcase and link to full information on the 2016 AAP Annual Meeting website

Innovation Showcase Participant Responsibilities:

The Innovation Showcase participant and/or the participant’s third party meeting planning organization is responsible for all aspects associated with the planning, promotion, and management of the Innovation Showcase and for payment of all costs related to the Innovation Showcase.

  • Assuming the cost and coordination for all audio visual services that are above those included in the Innovation Showcase fee
  • Assuming the cost and coordination for all electrical services associated with Innovation Showcase
  • Assuming the cost and coordination for all computer/internet services associated with Innovation Showcase
  • Designing, printing, and distributing Innovation theater invitations.
  • Providing onsite set-up, management, and dismantling of the Innovation Theater
  • Creation, management, and delivery of your Innovation Showcase handouts/program

Promotion of Innovation Showcase:

All materials intended to promote Innovation Showcases, including websites, e-blasts, promotional brochures, invitations, signage and other materials must be approved by the AAP Program Committee prior to the release and distribution.  Because changes may be required, it is strongly recommended that review and approval of AAP occur before printing or production of the materials.

All approved promotional, marketing, and other materials used in conjunction with the Innovation Showcase must contain the following statement in a prominent type size and location:

“This event is not part of the official AAP educational program of AAP’s 2016 Annual Meeting.  This promotional activity is provided by (sponsor) and is not certified for continuing education credit.  The content of this Innovation Showcase and opinions expressed by the presenters are those of the sponsor and not of the AAP.  


Any audio visual requirements other than what is provided by AAP are the organization’s responsibility.


AAP has contracted with GES as its shipping company for the 2016 AAP Annual Meeting.  The fees you are quoted and charged are the sole responsibility of the company hosting the Innovation Showcase.  Shipping fees are not included in the fee that is paid to AAP.  If you have any questions, please contact GES directly:

AAP is not responsible for any shipping delays or loss of materials.


One (1) professionally produced sign, not to exceed 28” x 44” may be displayed outside the Innovation Showcase during your scheduled time slot.  AAP will also accept one (1) additional sign to place in the registration area.


All speakers and presenters for AAP’s Innovation Showcases must be registered for the 2016 AAP Annual Meeting and must be wearing their AAP meeting badges in order to be admitted to the exhibit hall.  The organization coordinating the Innovation Showcase is responsible for ensuring all presenters are registered in advance of the session.  One (1) complimentary meeting registration will be provided to a designated speaker of the participating company.


Changes to assigned time slots must be requested in writing to AAP and will be accommodated only if the requested time slot is available. 

Any company cancelling or withdrawing from time of application through December 15, 2015 will receive a 50% refund.  AAP shall retain the full price of Innovation Showcase fee as liquidated damages for any company who withdraws or cancels after December 31, 2015.
