The AAP Board of Trustees has approved the funding of 2 (two) stipends in the amount of $2,000 each to support the participation of AAP members in the Training in Grantsmanship for Rehabilitation Research (TIGRR) workshop. (http://tigrr.bme.unc.edu/)
TIGRR is a four-day workshop that provides the expertise and support to be successful at the national level in obtaining research grant support. The target audience for this workshop includes junior and mid-level faculty in all rehabilitation research disciplines who are on the cusp of success in NIH-funded or similar research (VA and NIDILRR) who could benefit from expert mentorship in grant development including choosing best funding source and type of grant from that source.
The stipends will cover registration, hotel and food. The participants’ institutions will be asked to cover additional travel expenses.
The application deadline for the 2016 TIGRR workshop is September 1, 2015. Interested AAP members are encouraged to apply to the TIGRR program. Once accepted, the Research Committee will select 2 members to receive the stipends.
