NIH Common Fund is exploring research needs and opportunities related
to the molecular mechanisms whereby physical activity prevents disease
and improves health outcomes. The purpose of this effort is to identify
potential next steps for moving the entire biomedical research
enterprise forward in this area.

I. Katz, MD, PhD, National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal
and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), and Griffin Rodgers, MD, National Institute
of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), and with broad
support throughout the NIH.
