about post-acute care policy issues.This educational session is intended
to assist you in providing meaningful comments to the recent bipartisan request
from the Senate Finance and House Ways and Means Committees related to detailed
proposals to change Medicare post-acute care.(Please see attached Congressional

It seems clear that Congress intends to offset the cost of the
physician fee schedule fix in a variety of ways, but Medicare post-acute care
is one of the biggest targets to emerge so far.Post-acute care
disproportionately impacts people with disabilities, injuries, illnesses and
chronic conditions.It is provided in a variety of settings and is
critical to returning people to health and function following illness and
The request for comments is extremely detailed and asks for
comment on a number of complex post-acute care topics such as bundling, the
Continuing Care Hospital concept, quality incentives, the CARE tool, and other
important issues.Presenters will include experts in this area from the
American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association, Patton Boggs, and the
Powers firm. AMRPA has graciously volunteered to sponsor the lunch.We
