AAP Subcommittee on Goals and Objectives

Members: Tracy Johnson, MD (Chair); Martin Tamler, MD; Samuel Bierner, MD; Andy Sherman, MD

In January 2008, the AAP formed a Subcommittee comprised of Residency Program Directors to meet the ACGME mandate that rotations have competency based and level specific rotation objectives. During the first phase we solicited and received samples of goals and objectives from multiple PMR training programs. Our second phase involved organizing the data by rotations and creating standardized lists of objectives organized according to the ACGME competencies. All the objectives are organized by topic heading and are published to the AAP website for other Program Directors to use when designing their own rotations. Thank you to all the committee members who worked so hard during this process and to all the programs that shared their rotation objectives.  Click on the subject and you will be taken to the objectives:

Electrodiagnosis - beginning/advanced
Inpatient Consults - beginning/advanced
Pediatrics
Spinal Cord Injury
Brain Injury Medicine
Inpatient Rehabilitation
Pain Management
Musculoskeletal and Sports
Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Medical Devices
Spine
