2009 AAP Annual Meeting Call for Papers and Posters

The 2009 AAP Annual Meeting Call for Papers and Posters is now closed. Please watch for results of the abstracts very soon.

Recognition awards will be given to the best Paper and Posters presentations during the 2009 AAP Annual Meeting. The winning paper presentation are recognized as The Electrode Store Best Papers and the authors receive both a plaque and a monetary award which is generously sponsored by The Electrode Store.
ORAL PAPER PRESENTATIONS

The intent of these oral presentations is to convey the nature of high quality research practice to the meeting participants. These paper presentations will allow researchers to present their theoretical perspectives, the process by which they developed their research questions, the methodology, and statistical analysis in detail, and to allow audience members to participate in interactive discussion. Papers for this session should be experimental in nature, and will be chosen not only for their intrinsic scientific merit, but also for their educational value in illustrating the research process.

DISPLAY POSTERS

Each poster will be presented in the usual format on a 4 x 8 poster board in the exhibit area. The poster presentation is an exhibit providing a forum for a one-to-one, in-depth discussion using narrative and visual material to display and communicate the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of a specific study. Use of visual material such as photographs, charts, and diagrams is very important. The presenting author, as the resource person or consultant, should be present at specified times on the days of presentation to engage in discussion with interested individuals.

  • Those accepted will be notified by November 1, 2008.
  • In order for the poster to be displayed, the presenting author must register for the 2009 AAP Annual Meeting by December 15, 2008.
  • PUBLICATION OF ABSTRACT

    1. Abstracts presented at the annual meeting will be published in an Official Supplement to the American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to be distributed as a printed booklet at the meeting. Abstracts presented at the meeting will also be published online at www.AJPMR.com, the official website of the American Journal of PM&R. This online version of the Journal is indexed and searchable on Medline and other major medical databases such as OVID. 2. Upon notification of acceptance, authors will be asked to send CONFIRMATION of their attendance. One person is required to attend per poster on display. One person cannot represent multiple posters per day. The author must submit a completed registration form and full payment must be received at the AAP Meetings & Convention Office prior to December 15, 2008.  After the December 15, 2008 deadline, there will be no registration refunds to poster and/or paper presenters. Failure to follow the instructions will result in the abstract being withdrawn from the Final Program and the American Journal of PM&R.
